Week 4 Peer Feedback

Q Week 4 - Peer Feedback Your initial discussion thread is due on Day 3 (Thursday) and you have until Day 7 (Monday) to respond to your classmates. Your grade will reflect both the quality of your initial post and the depth of your responses. Refer to the Discussion Forum Grading Rubric under the Settings icon above for guidance on how your discussion will be evaluated. This discussion will be assessed on a 10-point scale and is worth 4% of your final grade. Reviewing Alternative Sources of Information: Part 1 (Peer Feedback) [WLOs: 1, 2, 3] [CLOs: 2, 5] Prior to beginning work on this discussion forum, review the guidelines for using information from various types of sources: Distinguishing Sources by Type Links to an external site.. Watch the Evaluating Web Resources Links to an external site.and Scholarly and Popular Resources Links to an external site.video tutorials from the UAGC Library. This discussion forum is the first part of a two-part integration. The peer and instructor feedback you receive in this discussion forum will be integrated and submitted in this week’s written assignment. You must provide feedback on your peers’ initial posts by Day 5 of this week. In this discussion, you will have an opportunity to seek out gray literature for your research, and apply the guidelines you have studied to determine if you should use these resources in your research. To get started, conduct an Internet search for institutional, organizational, and governmental agencies that provide information relevant to understanding and researching your topic of interest and research focus. Identify three such sources and describe the kind of information that is available from each source. In your initial discussion post, • Identify and provide a complete APA citation for three sources that contain information from institutional, organizational or government agency websites that contain information relevant to your research topic or research focus. Consider accessing the Writing Center’s Formatting Your References List Links to an external site.for more on completing a complete reference citation. • Provide direct links to the three sources within your initial post. • Analyze how the information you found through the institutional, organizational, or governmental Internet sites is relevant to your topic and research question. • Evaluate whether it would be reasonable and ethically acceptable to include information from these three sources in a formal research project on your topic, and explain your decision. Guided Response: Answer any questions your instructor has about your initial post. Review several of your classmates’ posts, prioritizing those who have not received feedback, and respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts by Day 5. Each of your responses to your classmates should be at least 100 words in length. Evaluate the two sources each classmate identified and indicate whether you think that the sources would be appropriate for use in an academic assignment. Explain your rationale in a way that would help your classmate evaluate his or her own decision-making process about the use of institutional, organizational, and governmental sources. You are encouraged to post your required replies early in the week to provide opportunities for interaction and further discourse within this forum. Continue to monitor the discussion forum through Day 7, and respond with robust dialogue to anyone who replies to your initial post. Compile your instructor’s and classmates’ feedback and navigate to this week’s assignment to complete Part 2.
